Located in Crescent City, we use no pesticides, fertilizers, hormones, antibiotics or genetically modified organisms on our farm certified organic by CCOF.
We move our chickens in mobile chicken coops around our pasture which also serves our organic dairy herd. Moving the chickens every few days prevents over grazing and thus soil erosion. The chickens are free to graze and are protected from predators by our dog.
Our nutrient dense, powerful eggs go beyond organic. The Alexandre kids, raise baby chicks for five months until they become laying hens.
Two roosters from each variety are kept with the laying hens to ensure desirable fertilized eggs. The chickens enjoy a natural farm life setting where they can produce the most nutritious eggs.
You will see the deep, rich orange color in the yolk and the firmness in the whites. Each brown egg, which is nest-laid and hand gathered, is a nutrient dense, whole food package of essential vitamins, minerals and proteins.
Blake and Stephanie Alexandre bought the 570-acre dairy farm that serves as their headquarters north of Fort Dick in 1992 and have established three more farms in Ferndale, Eureka and Smith River, now totaling over 5,000 acres.
Blake and Stephanie were raised on dairy farms and have chosen the same lifestyle for their family, but the eggs have become a project for their sons, Joseph and Christian.
