Hunter’s Honey is a family of beekeepers since 1910, now in their fourth generation of producing honey in Indiana. They manage several hundred hives throughout the state, for varietal honey and pollination. Hunter’s Honey uses their honey, wax, and pollen to produce value-added foods and candles. They enjoy giving tours of their honey farm, and are hosting a visit during the Homegrown Indiana Farm Tour series, on July 19th, 2009. “We enjoy making life sweeter for our customers,” says Tracy Hunter, pictured here at her farmers market stand.
Hunter’s Honey can be found at Bloomingfoods, the Bloomington Community Farmers Market, and at other local shops and restaurants in South Central Indiana, as well as at the Hunter's Honey Farm Gift Shop, and on the web. Hunter’s Honey also provides information about the health benefits of honey, and about the incredible honeybee. They offer a coloring book for children, and sell the Indiana Beekeeper’s Association Cookbook, a collection of tried and true recipes from beekeepers and their wives, all of which use honey as the primary sweetener.
