For three generations, Cedar Summit has produced non-homogenized milk, cream, ice cream, butter, hard cheeses and sour cream. Owners Dave and Florence Minar stopped using petrochemical herbicides and fertilizers in the 1970s, substituting good tillage and crop rotation practices to manage the land. They have adopted a grazing system where all animals are pastured on the land for at least seven months and fed stored grasses the remainder of the year. No antibiotics or added hormones are used.
