Emily grew up in the Coast Range Mountains of Oregon. Her parents owned and operated a small restaurant where they used fresh herbs from their kitchen garden in many of the menu items. As time passed, their love for plants outweighed their love for the restaurant and they sold it to start the Thyme Garden, a mail order seed company that now also hosts weddings and luncheons throughout the summer as well as boasting an extensive collection of over 700 herbs.
Now living in Corvallis, Oregon, Emily’s rich culinary journey continues. She currently works at the First Alternative Co-op doing marketing and communication and participates in many area efforts devoted to building a healthy local economy, promoting local foods, and enhancing community sustainability.Visit my blog at: http://elacorvallis.blogspot.com/
